iOS 19: a few details about it

In the run-up to WWDC 2025, to be held from 9 to 13 June, Apple is returning to concrete improvements rather than spectacular announcements: according to Bloomberg, the presentation of iOS 19 will be more measured to avoid the broken promises of last year. Apple to unveil iOS 19 at keynote on 9 June, with developer beta immediately available and public release around September

🛜 Simplified public Wi-Fi

One of the new features will be simplified management of public Wi-Fi networks: instead of re-entering your credentials each time you connect, you'll only have to fill in a form once, and this information will be automatically synchronised across all your associated Apple devices. This approach, similar to password management services, is supposed to save time.

🔋 AI-powered battery management

For the first time, Apple is introducing a battery optimisation system driven by artificial intelligence: iOS 19 will analyse usage habits and adjust application consumption in real time to extend battery life. This adaptive mode, similar to Android's “Adaptive Battery” function, should be particularly beneficial for slimmer models such as the iPhone 17, while remaining available on all compatible iPhones.

🪪 New visual identity

iOS 19 will undoubtedly offer a striking visual refresh, with redesigned icons, menus and windows, as well as floating navigation bars inspired by visionOS to harmonise the experience between iPhone, iPad and Mac. Jon Prosser (Front Page Tech), via his mock-ups, also mentions a revamped keyboard and a richer, more intuitive and customisable Messages application.

🦾 Enhanced accessibility

Apple is focusing on inclusion: the new Accessibility Reader will offer advanced text customisation options (font, spacing, contrast) for visually impaired or dyslexic people. In addition, Live Captions is coming to the Apple Watch, allowing you to read audio transcripts captured by the iPhone directly on your wrist in real time.

🙌🏻 Beta and availability

The first beta of iOS 19 will be released to developers the day after the keynote on 9 June, with several test cycles leading up to the final version for the general public in September.
